Mini Ode to Summer Season
Summer, you come and go so fast with hopes for an Indian summer every year. Looking forward to fall and its ever changing foliage...saturated hues of orange, yellow, and red do my eyes find glory in; but summer, summer wild flowers and the warm sunshine, I will reminisce until I see and feel you again.
Post Fashion Week NYC
Twice a year I look forward to Fashion week in NYC and beyond. Making my rounds to see what all the designers and fashion houses have to offer by way of floral print with of course S/S being a resounding showcase of floral print every year. Has there ever been fashion without floral print? Even the most minimalist fashion designer will incorporate the flower or a floral print at some point. This year acknowledgment goes to Oscar de la Renta. At the helm, Peter Copping dons the signature red carnation print and welcomes guests with a red carnation on their seat. Read some history and inspiration about the red carnation S/S 2016 in VOGUE by Sarah Mower. I have always loved the carnation, reminds me of my days over at Ovando where carnations are loved and showcased in thoughtful floral compositions, not winced at or hated on for being somewhat inexpensive. The reality is that flowers by far are one of the most luxurious things one could ever spend money on including carnations.
Looking forward to seeing what London (JR loves Erdem, Pre-Spring/Resort 2016 was utterly fantastic), Milan, and Paris will show.
Up next, men in floral print, love it and want more of it.
